HHDC Dietitian Named Top in OKC District
Jessica Shaw, clinical trials research coordinator and certified diabetes educator at Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, was named 2013 Distinguished Dietitian of the Year by the Oklahoma City District Dietetic Association. The award recognizes an area dietitian for his or her service to a local community and is given at the Oklahoma Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Spring Convention.
Shaw said of the award, “I’m honored to receive this recognition, particularly since I have so many distinguished colleagues in the area who also work tirelessly to volunteer in the community. There are many deserving recipients.”
Along with several community service projects, Shaw is currently planning the Oklahoma Academy and Dietetics Fall Symposium and was recognized for her past service to both the Association and area organizations. To receive the award, Association members must nominate a registered dietitian deserving of the award and the Association board selects the most distinguished candidate.
“This is another great example of how healthcare professionals at the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center are making a difference in the state of Oklahoma,” said Blake Rambo, Chief Operating Officer at Harold Hamm. “Jessica is an outstanding dietitian who not only serves her patients within the walls of the Center, but also takes her care and compassion to many community outreach events and programs.”
