Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) is a multidisciplinary approach comprising healthy eating, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring, medication management, reducing your risk for complications, healthy coping skills and more. The training consists of one 1-hour individual consultation followed by two to four group classes, all led by certified diabetes educators and other licensed medical specialists. Harold Hamm Diabetes Center is the only organization in Oklahoma to have earned accreditation for our DSME program from both the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). Our curriculum is derived from the AADE7 Healthy Behaviors™ framework.
