Prevention & Outreach

Harold Hamm Diabetes Center’s statewide outreach efforts focus on the underserved and underinsured, as well as promoting access to preventive health care for everyone at risk of diabetes and/or its complications. Through strategically developed community partnerships, the center is able to play an active role in implementing activities benefiting all people affected by diabetes in Oklahoma.

Support Groups

We offer multiple support groups at no cost to participants for adults with diabetes, at risk for diabetes or with other stress-related health issues. Learn more

Small Steps, Big Changes

Designed for adults at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, this evidence-based, 16-week lifestyle intensive helps participants lose weight, make informed choices, and prevent or delay the onset of diabetes. Learn more


The Diabetes-Free Intervention Techniques program certifies organizations that have created healthy work environments to improve the quality of life for its employees through diabetes awareness and education. DiabetesFIT also offers guidance and support for those organizations looking to establish programs and events that make health a priority. Learn more

We offer a variety of free tools including risk assessments and educational resources to promote diabetes awareness at community events. Learn more
